I was 10 years old when Kathy was murdered. I lived just down the road from where she was found. I passed by the place many times in my childhood. Before Kathy was murdered, I had the run of the street. All the neighborhood kids could go anywhere. After, we had to stay together and never go anywhere alone. I remember going with one of my friends to look for clues, so we could solve this horrible crime. We were too afraid when we got there. We brought flowers and said a prayer. My brothers told my parents where we went, I was in huge trouble. I have thought about Kathy a lot during my lifetime. I never had the chance to meet her, I wish I had. I am so pleased that the case has been reopened. I hope for all of you that the men responsible are soon apprehended and punished for their actions.

Kathy, your sister Karen and I were great friends and I remember how you used to tag along and hang out with us as neighborhood kids did in the 60's and 70's. I remember your "tomboy" ways (very similar to my own!) and recall that we were the only two girls who participated in the Franklin Recreation Dept.'s boxing lessons. You would have been a gifted athlete...had you lived. Your death touched us all. The city of Franklin grew up overnight. We were no longer carefree kids, able to roam the streets. Parents held us tight and we were never allowed to walk anywhere alone after that day in 1971. The last image I had of you was when I attended your wake to offer prayers and to support and hug your family. I remember the horror of it all and will never forget seeing the bruising as it showed through your make-up. Know that the residents of Franklin, NH will keep you in our hearts forever. My wish for your family is to see justice for your death; they will never have peace until they hold you once again. With love, Gloria
